After many months of searching and watching countless number of videos, this is how we started our chicken family and continue to grow it!!! There is beauty in simplicity, and chickens can teach you just how simple and awesome life can be. We try to keep things simple here.
We have been chicken owners since April 2021. Our efforts are to share simplicity, because that is how we best attempt to live with our little flock. When we were getting started, it seemed like a long journey, but, that is because were looking so far down the road, that all we needed to do was just get started.
We have organized our site for simplicity; you will find that we have broken things down into three categories.
Starter, Needs, Wants.
Remember, its as simple as getting started. You will definitely learn as you and your flock grow.

Caring for
Your Chickens
just getting started. don't make it harder than it has to be. these starter items are a must to get started right and quickly.
age range: up to 12 weeks
STARTER
a transition will occur as your girls and roo's get bigger and bigger, and you will need to move them from the small starter space into a much larger space, probably their coop. this could happen between 8 - 12 weeks. this means you will need your coop up and ready for them.
age range: 12 weeks and up
NEEDS
if you have your door spaces situated, you may not need things like automated doors. but, they are nice to have in place. this doesn't mean that you get to ignore your girls and roo's, as they still need your attention and love. but, this does eliminate some major concerns if you don't happen to get up in-time, or get home in-time. you may also find some of these other wants that could make like happier for you and your chicken family.
